Out of our 10 buff orpingtons, 4 of them were born in early February and have blue leg bands. They've been laying eggs for about a month now, and we get 3 to 4 eggs each day. The other 6 buffs are a little younger - about four months old - and haven't started laying yet. They all have yellow leg bands. One of the younger, non-laying hens (pullets) has orange legs and an orange beak. After some research, we discovered that she is probably a mix of buff orpington and barred rock. Be on the lookout for a blog post all about Orange and her sweet temperament.
