Are you thinking about hatching chicken eggs with an incubator? I've created an easy-to-follow guide. Open the pdf file for details on each step!

Here are the basics:

  1. Decide how many chickens you want, and figure out how many eggs your incubator can hold.

  2. Mark your calendar for the ideal hatch date. Then count back one month, and order eggs on that date.

  3. After receiving eggs, allow them to settle for a day.

  4. Place in an incubator and mark the calendar for 21 days. Periodically check the eggs for viability.

  5. While the eggs are incubating, prepare for baby chicks.

  6. On Hatch Day, just observe. Move babies to their brooder all at once.
