Hatch Day

Last year around this time I purchased fertilized eggs - I only had Buff Orpington hens at the time - but none of my girls were feeling broody. Since then, I've acquired Buff Orpington roosters, and even though I now have plenty of fertilized eggs, none of my hens are willing to sit on them long enough to incubate and hatch. Using an incubator isn't the ideal situation but it worked! Out of 8 eggs, 5 of them hatched last Saturday. All baby chicks are healthy and seem to be happy.
